   Discharge Systems Redesigned
[21/10/2011 9:55 am]

Charles Ross and Son Company has completely redesigned its line of Follower Plate Discharge Systems. Discharge Systems are used to Vacuum Mixers push viscous non-flowing materials form a change can Mixers can, after completion of the mixing cycle. The new HED line of Discharge Systems is a complete departure from the earlier model. The HED line eliminates the mechanical screws used on earlier models to raise and lower the mix can to the hydraulically operated platen. The entire system is now driven by a single, remotely positioned hydraulic power-pack, and all controls are positioned on the side of the discharge system frame. This simplified design nearly eliminates the possibility of any mechanical failures, and also provides for close and accurate control of discharge pressures and rates by the user. The HED series is available in sizes ranging from 10 through 200 gallons capacity and in either standard or sanitary design. Included are high shear mixers full hydraulics and controls so that the unit is fully operational upon receipt and set up in your plant. The HED Discharge System is available for testing in the Ross Test and Development Center, or for evaluation in your plant on a trial rental basis.

Ross Introduces New Double Planetary Mixer
[21/10/2011 9:53 am]

Bogard Lagman, Executive-Vice President of Ross has announced the introduction of a new Model of its well known Double Planetary high shear mixers. The new model is designated as the "DPM" and is available in many sizes from 1/2 pint to 750 gallons working capacity. The "DPM" can incorporate a new patented "HV" blade design. This blade configuration allows use of the mixer for materials having a viscosity up to approx. 6 million centipoise, compared to approx. 1.5 million centipoise for the older models. The blade was designed to produce excellent axial and radial flow, while operating at close blade to bowl clearance. The close blade to bowl design prevents the buildup of material on the tank wall and ensures efficient heat transfer when used with a jacketed Vacuum Mixers vessel. Further information can be obtained by calling the Ross Mixing Hotline at 1-800-243-ROSS, or by accessing our website at www.mixers.com. Tanks and Vessels The website includes animation of both the conventional rectangular blades, and the new "HV" blade design.
